One of our patients, Daniela, was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 18 and has struggled with maintaining a healthy A1C level for over 16 years. A1C is the method of measurement that determines how well a diabetic patient is doing.
Daniela’s primary physician recommended she see our on-staff endocrinologist to help her create a plan to self- manage her diabetes, understand her treatment options, and know the importance of working with her doctors to get the best results.
After three months of receiving this health and wellness plan, Daniela has reduced her A1C from a 9 to a 6 level. The normal range for A1C levels should be between 4 and 6. Daniela is excited to have achieved this reduction in her A1C as she believes she has now learned to self-mange her diabetes for a healthier life for not only herself but for her family.
