NTACHC Helps Patients Save Money on Prescriptions
North Texas Area Community Health Centers Pharmacy can access 340B drug pricing and offer significantly reduced prices on prescriptions for our covered patients. Read about a few of our patients.

Dylan and Linda
Dylan and her mom Linda have been going to the North Texas Area Community Health Centers Pharmacy for years after a recommendation from Linda’s friend. Linda gets her asthma medication from the pharmacy, and Dylan gets two types of insulin and Sertraline. The total monthly cost of all their medications is $45.
Dylan said, “I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and have to use insulin. I needed to find an affordable option before I aged out of Medicaid. Insulin is outrageously expensive. If I didn’t have access to a place like this, I would probably die. I know that sounds dramatic, but it’s true. Getting my medication is one of the few things I don’t have to worry about.”
If either of them had to pay retail prices, they would spend around $850 (Dylan) and $400 (Linda). Thanks to the North Texas Area Community Health Centers participating in the 340B Drug Pricing Program, the Pharmacy is able to purchase prescription drugs at discounted prices, thus serving as a safety net for its patients who rely on lifesaving and important medication.
Dennis
“One of my family members took me to North Texas Area Community Health Centers in 2018 as I needed to see a doctor and get medicine for my diabetes. At that time, my A1C level was 12, but it is now down to 6, thanks to help from the doctors and medicine. I used to take insulin, but when it dropped, I no longer needed to take insulin. I now take a smaller dose of two medicines for diabetes and a medicine for high blood pressure. If I had to go elsewhere, the medicine would be way more, and I couldn’t afford it. I need those medicines. NTACHC is also a wonderful place to go. The staff is friendly, and the doctors are very good. They listen and go step by step.”
Two of his prescriptions retail for $1,600 and $1,800, but they are less than $20 each for a 90-day supply at the pharmacy, which can access reduced prices on prescriptions for covered patients.
